Gellman Images Captures Creative Works of Art

at the 22nd Annual NJ Sandcastle Contest

 

BELMAR, NJ (July 21, 2008)- The New Jersey Sandcastle Contest today announced that Gellman Images, a leading photography company that provides an array of imaging services in the Tri-State area, served as a sponsor and official photographer at the 22nd Annual New Jersey Sandcastle Contest. This year’s event was held at Belmar’s 18th Avenue Beach on Wednesday, July 9. Participants of all ages were invited to build their own unique creation from New Jersey’s finest sand, known to be ideal for sculpting.

 

“While the different sandcastles and various sand creations have already been washed or raked away, thanks to Gellman Images the memories made and images will be preserved forever,” explained Domenick Cilea, president of Springboard Public Relations, coordinators of the event for the past 9 years.

 

Gellman Images served as both sponsor and prize donor by providing one of the grand prizes of an expansive in-studio portrait package.  In addition, firm principal Gary Gellman also volunteered to photograph the event.  Since 2005, Gary has been the official photographer of the event and has offered his services pro bono to support one of the Jersey shore’s largest summer events.  Additionally, Gellman Images donated a photo package that was utilized for the event’s prize fund.

 

Thanks to Gellman Images and other event sponsors, the 22nd Annual Sandcastle Contest was the most successful in the history of the event drawing more than 11,000 people who swarmed several blocks of Belmar beach to watch more then 300 participants in six different categories work to claim the title of Best on Beach.

New York, NY – Gellman Images filmed the winning “Engagement on Ice" video of Nick Frayler's surprise proposal to Sandy Ramos, as chosen by Brides.com visitors. As members of WEVA, Gellman Images had the unique opportunity to participate in a Brides.com promotion with The Ice Rink at Rockefeller Center for the 2006-2007 season of "Engagement on Ice." Emotional videos of real marriage proposals made on the ice were the centerpiece of the promotion. Click to see the production.

The video was one of eight productions in the first-ever, interactive Brides.com Video Voting Vacation Giveaway contest, which allowed site visitors to vote for their favorite "Engagement on Ice" video proposal, decide which Sandals Resort the winning couple should visit on their honeymoon, and be entered for a chance to win their own getaway. Promotion for this Brides.com signature event was enhanced when clips from the "Engagements on Ice" videos were aired in May on CBS’s Entertainment Tonight.

Brides.com is a destination Web site from Condé Nast Bridal Media, which included original content and planning tools, and serves as the online home to Brides, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride, and 16 Brides regional magazines.

The production was written and produced by Gary Gellman and edited by Michael Schiumo in December 2006.

As a photographer, Gary Gellman (39) has been featured nationally over 400 times in newspapers, magazines and on the radio. Mr. Gellman has also appeared nationally on CBS's "The Early Show", ABC's "Good Morning Las Vegas", CBS's "Early Show Indianapolis", Fox's "Good Day Philadelphia", Action News- "Early Edition", NBC's "10", UPN9, News 12's "Daytime Edition", Comcast's "Real Life", New York 1 and his images have also appeared in the New York Times. Mr. Gellman has been a featured speaker at events in New York City, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Stamford, East Rutherford, Atlantic City and recently Omaha, Nebraska.

Mr. Gellman was included in NJBiz Magazine's 40 Under 40 Business Achievers class. This honor is given to only 40 entrepreneurs and/or corporate executives a year who are willing to take risks and assume major responsibility at an early age in the State of New Jersey. Gellman Images also won the Western Monmouth Chamber of Commerce Circle of Excellence award in 2007. Gary completed his broadcasting and journalism work at The College of New Jersey.

Michael Schiumo (23) has been video editing since 2001 and is a graduate of Rider University.
